It's been really noisy here with all the bird chatter. Spring is in the air
but one of my favorite loudmouth birds hasn't made a peep...where are the wrens?
Ours are usually around by now. A few weeks ago I put out two new wren houses that I was sure would be occupied quickly or at least investigated, but no sign of our wrens.
Have you noticed any wrens in your garden?

No, I have not seen wrens yet either... the red winged black birds came back with might...they are everywhere.... but no wrens yet....now I'll be watching.
What do wren houses look like, Boo?

Birdhouses with smaller holes.
The sparrows are so miffed because they can't fit inside the entrance.
Bethie, our Carolina Wren is one of our favorites too. Noisy all winter! They like to nest in a good neighbor piece of privacy fence..between the slats.
I sure hope the weather didn't harm our wrens.

So, nothing different about them, like bluebird houses...

just little doorways....cute. I should look for one.
I have my eyes out for the wrens....

good idea Sash
My RWBB's like to fly with the starlings. They all hang out in the trees and make quite the ruckus together

Wrens came back tax day

but I am happy to report they love the new house we put up. We have a loud mouth couple that have moved in.
