Clitoria Ternatea....so beautiful, but not hardy in my zone...
Is it s fast grower and seed well? I'm wondering if it can just be grown as an annual, just like doing morning glories?

I tried growing some last year Nat, but unfortunately they weren't fast enough to do anything but a small vine for me. Others may have had a better experience.

oh, and you're a zone warmer than me.

I think I'll be given some seeds for it, so I suppose I can try it if so....but at least now I know it may not be worth buying.
Thanks Ginny.

So nice smurf....
I suppose when I get better with my greenhouse, starting these early might make it worth growing as an annual....they are so pretty.

I have to admit I was totally unfamiliar with that plant til I saw one growing on a fence in Key West FL years ago and hadn't a clue as to the actual name, though I was somewhat sure it was in the pea family.. I think they're considered perennial in warm climates however, so they might lend themselves to going indoors for the winter in cold zones as contianer plants,, so you don't have to replant them every year perhaps, unless you wish to have numerous ones in your garden of course! I just loved the color most of all, but haven't yet tried growing them myself and should add those to a seed list!
