Mockingbird needs grease

DH and I kept hearing a squeaking wheel and each of us spent some time checking to see what was making the noise.  We finally tracked it down to a mockingbird. It sounded just like my DSis ornamental windmill...until DH greased it.

lol That's funny.  I've never heard them do a squeak noise.  Maybe he was mocking the windmill.

It was funny. The first time I heard him I checked my windmills and they were fine. Later I walked next door to visit my sis and heard hers squeaking. DH put some grease on it and we thought that was it. Then I heard it again and tracked it down to the bird.....but thought I had to be mistaken. Finally asked DH if he had heard it and he laughed and said he had, but not before he checked the windmill again.

reminds me of recently watching the movie "Failure to Launch" , where the one girl was kept constantly awake by a noisy mockingbird just outside her window, which she wanted to kill, and upon having a new beau had him shoot it with an air rifle or whatever, feels guilty and makes him resuscitate it!

"A Rose by any other name...is still a "thorny" issue".
